Altruix, a leading provider of behavioral health pharmacy solutions, acquired Lizza’s Apothecare Pharmacy and Laurel Long Term Care Pharmacy, trusted local pharmacies that have served the community of Uniontown, Pennsylvania since 1990. This strategic acquisition expands Altruix’s reach, increasing the number of individuals it serves to 28,000. Building on the strong legacy of friendly, hometown service these pharmacies brought to their consumers, Altruix will continue to deliver high-quality pharmacy care throughout Western Pennsylvania.
“As chain pharmacies close their doors and more communities become pharmacy deserts, we’re committed to expanding access to local pharmacy services,” said Greg Ganse, CEO of Altruix. “Our team not only fills prescriptions but also partners with providers to track adherence and refill needs, coordinate and administer long-acting injectables (LAIs), and manage prior authorizations – making care more connected and accessible.”
Altruix specializes in improving medication access and management for individuals with behavioral health conditions, substance use disorders (SUD), and intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Through an innovative, community-focused approach, the organization breaks down barriers to care – empowering individuals to achieve better health outcomes and greater independence.
“For the past 35 years, Lizza’s Apothecare Pharmacy and Laurel Long Term Care Pharmacy have been proud to serve the Uniontown community,” said Walt Lizza, former co-owner and President of both pharmacies. “Our mission has always been to provide fast, friendly, and personalized care. I’m confident that Altruix will carry that mission forward for decades to come.”
With this acquisition, Altruix continues its commitment to expanding access to personalized behavioral health pharmacy care. The company looks forward to building strong local partnerships and supporting individuals across Western Pennsylvania and beyond.
